Recovery Thought fo the Day - April 30th

Good Morning CR Family!  Please see below for today's Recovery Thought of the Day from Perry C. Also, make sure to tune into CR Friday Night Live tomorrow.  John Smith, Crossroads Church's founding Pastor is going to join me to talk about the beginnings of Celebrate Recovery at Crossroads. Last Friday was the 16th anniversary for Celebrate Recovery at Crossroads.

Beauty of the Cross

A few years ago, I worked in a Catholic hospital as a chaplain in the Denver area.  We had a small chapel on the first floor that was open to the public, staff and of course family members who needed a quiet place to pray, think, reflect, give thanks and cry.  It was a sacred holy place, a refuge from the illness, disease and pain that brought patients through the doors of the hospital.

Being a Catholic institution, the chapel had a cross hanging in the middle of the far wall that displayed a three-dimensional image of Christ crucified and it was powerful.  There the lifeless body of Jesus hung, arms outstretched, head bowed and surrender made. It was hauntingly beautiful.  This was God letting all of humanity know just how much he loves us.

Today have you ever wondered where God is in the midst of your recovery struggle and pain?  Look to the cross.  See Jesus hanging there for you, taking on all the sin, separation and pain you’ve ever felt.  God is not distant.  He is there ready to meet you, but you need to enter the chapel, the quiet place of your heart to meet him.  Jesus truly understands and knows what you are experiencing. So, don’t run away from God.  When you hurt, draw near to God and he will draw near to you.  Peace be yours this day.

Recovery Thought of the Day - April 29

Good Morning CR Family!  Please see below for today's Recovery Thought of the Day from Perry C. Also, make sure to check out the announcement section for the sign up links for open share groups.

Love and Devotion

Two of my favorite stories in the Bible few people ever talk about.  Both stories reveal believers working behind the scenes living their lives and when opportunity presents itself without hesitation, they show Jesus their love and devotion.

In Matthew 21:1-4, before his triumphal entry into Jerusalem Jesus sent two of his disciples into town ahead of him. Jesus stated that as they entered the town, they would see a donkey tied up.  They were to untie the animal and bring it back to Jesus.  Someone, other than a disciple, owned the animal.  When the owner of the animal asked the disciples, what are you doing untying the donkey?  The disciples replied, “The Lord needs it.”  I love this story! There was no credit given the owner of the animal.  We don’t even know the person’s name. But God knew their heart and they were ready to give what they had to Jesus.

The other story involves the woman who anointed Jesus with expensive perfume before his crucifixion and burial found in Mark 14:1-11.  In the midst of a dinner party at Simon the leper’s house the woman, acting out of the fullness of her heart, courageously entered the house, disrupted the conversation, broke the jar of perfume and anointed Jesus.  The dinner guests grumbled about what she had done, wasting money like that.  But Jesus affirmed her actions saying, “She has done a wonderful thing for me”, “She has played her part.”

In recovery as we work through the 12-steps we discover who we are apart from our hurts, hang-ups and habits.  We learn we are not a mistake but are fearfully and wonderfully made by God.  We have something to contribute, a part to play in God’s Kingdom.

So, the question for us today is this, how can we live love and respond to God’s request of us while maintaining our distinctive identity?  We may not have a donkey or an expensive jar of perfume but what do we have that when God asks us to use it, give it or offer it, we gladly play our part.

Recovery Thought of the Day - April 28th

Good Morning CR Family!  Please see below for today's Recovery Thought of the Day. Also, make sure to check out the announcement section for the sign up links for open share groups.

Safer at Home
As I was reading through the Governor's new guidelines for the Safer at Home Order, it reminded me of the several safeguards that I have established throughout my recovery to protect me from temptation or a relapse.  I remember when I first established my safeguards, I found them to be restrictive, I thought that I was missing out.  However, in reality,  the safeguards that I have established are not restricting me but bringing me freedom to continue to grow in my relationship with God.

Before recovery I was enslaved to my addiction.  Yes, I pretty much did whatever I wanted to do, but doing whatever I wanted to do rather than letting God lead my life, led me to be a prisoner of my addiction.  Rather than fully experience the goodness in this life, I looked for every opportunity to partake in my addiction.  Rather than establishing healthy and meaningful relationships, I was Isolated.  I spent so much energy covering my tracks so I wouldn't get caught... I was enslaved and that was no way to live.  Now, whenever the thought that my safeguards are restricting me creep in, I remind myself of what live was like before recovery and I quickly realize how much better life is living free from my hurts habits and hangups

What safeguards is God telling you that you need to put in place so that you can start experiencing freedom from your hurts, habits and hang-ups?

Recovery Thought of the Day - April 26th

Good Morning CR Family!  Please see below for today's Recovery Thought of the Day:

Groundhog Day

As many of us have been confined to our homes as of late, I imagine that I lot of us are beginning to feel like Bill Murray in the movie Groundhog Day. Seeing the same people everyday, looking at the same four walls everyday and so on... I know I have definitely felt like this at times over the course of the last month.

Outside of the current crisis, it can also feel like Groundhog Day when it comes to our hurts, habits and hang-ups.  For years, I tried on my own power to kick my addiction, often times just trying harder to stop, reading another self help book, and so on.  It was like Groundhog Day, it was INSANITY.  The only way that I was able to break free from that ongoing cycle, was to stop trying on my own power and to tap into Gods' power.  The reality is, if I'm honest, is that I can still get caught in never ending Groundhog Day loops.  The difference is that I know how tools in my recovery that help me identify when I am spinning my wheels and help redirect my attention towards God.

What is causing you today to feel like it's Groundhog day?

Recovery Thought of the Day - April 25th

Good Morning CR Family!  Please see below for today's Recovery Thought of the Day from Perry C. Also, if you missed it last night, make sure to check out our youtube channel for the CR Friday Night Live Video.

Forgiveness

I have two kids who are estranged from one another, and it breaks my heart.  They carry a lot of resentments from when they were growing up.  Unfortunately, they have never forgiven one another for not being perfect and for not providing the other perfect love.

I see this in CR as well.  As people who long for perfect love we have to forgive one another for not being able to give or receive love in our daily lives. My many needs constantly interfere with my ability to be there for others unconditionally.  Please forgive me for not being there for each of you when you wanted me to be. My love is limited.

But here’s the deal, relationships are not possible without the willingness to forgive one another “seventy-seven times” (check out Matthew 18:22). Forgiveness is what holds us in CR together through the good and bad times and allows us to grow in love.  Who will you forgive today for not being love/God in your life?

If you would like someone to reach out to you, text us your E-mail and name to 970-645-6109 and we will have someone from within CR reach out to you.

Recovery Thought of the Day - April 24th

Good Morning CR Family!  Please see below for today's Recovery Thought of the Day from Perry C.  Also,  remember to get signed up for tonight's open share group meetings (See link below in announcements).

Solitude

The past six weeks have been emotionally difficult for me.  I live alone, my grown kids live in North Carolina and Oregon and my trusted friend Simon, the beagle died a few years ago.  I am acquainted with loneliness and solitude but only since Covid-19 has solitude become my daily companion.

What I am discovering is solitude is not an easy place for me to be. Because it is here, I find myself: my fears, insecurity, addictions, anger, resentment and today my deep need for recognition and approval.

For those of us in recovery this is where we kind of hangout.  Facing ourselves, being real with God and others, it’s a big part of working the 12 steps.  And in that honest place if we don’t run away but listen well, we will hear the voice of God remind us we are radically accepted just as we are.  And God’s unfailing love promises to be with us through each and every difficult season as he guides us out of the darkness and into the light.  So, hang on.

If you would like someone to reach out to you, text us your E-mail and name to 970-645-6109 and we will have someone from within CR reach out to you.

Recovery Thought of the Day
(Adapted from Ricard Rohr's Daily Meditation)

"Teresa of Ávila, (1515-1582) was declared a saint by the Catholic church in 1622 and named the first woman Doctor of the Church in 1970. A Doctor of the Church is someone whose teaching can be trusted.
One of Teresa’s most famous teachings is a poem known as “Teresa’s Bookmark” that was found in her own prayer book after her death."  Let her words redirect our thoughts today and give us peace.

“Let nothing disturb you.
Let nothing upset you.
Everything changes.
God alone is unchanging.
With patience all things are possible.
Whoever has God lacks nothing.
God alone is enough.”
Peace

Recovery Thought of the Day - April 22nd

Good Morning CR Family!

Please see below for the Recovery Thought of the Day from Perry C. Also, make sure to check out the announcements for the sign up links for this week's share group meetings.

Recovery Thought of the Day:

Small Steps

Jesus told a story of a man who loaned three servant’s money to invest for him while he was away, Matthew 25:14-30. The first two servants invested and doubled the money; the third servant was afraid of the master, so he hid the money.

All God asks of us in recovery is to do something with what we have today; our time, abilities, relationships and resources. For us to choose to do nothing is the same as burying our potential and life.

Like the third servant we may feel scared.  During those times we might be tempted to make excuses like, God won’t be pleased if I don’t really make it, I know I’ll mess up or who I am to even try?  Sometimes we can fixate on our own limitations and think we aren’t enough or succumb to whatever holds us back instead of taking the next small step God or our accountability partner or friend is calling us to try.  Refusal to take action is like burying the treasure God has given us to use for the benefit of others. God scolds the third unfaithful servant not for failing but for not trying.

God has absolutely no problem dealing and working with our failures, I can tell you that for sure!  Check out how Jesus loved, corrected, forgave and restored Peter after his major mess up, Luke 22:54-62.  This is what God does for all of us.

God doesn’t help us if we hide, refuse to take action in our own recovery or bury our abilities and gifts. Mother Teresa used to say, “We are called upon not to be successful, but to be faithful.” If we are connected to God, wanting to love others, ask God, what are you inviting me into? He has probably told us through other people or the scriptures.  Don’t worry about the results or outcome.  Step out knowing God has given us permission to be ourselves and expects us to take the next best step forward in our recovery.

In the opening story of the three servants, it says when the owner returned, he was pleased with the first two servants saying, “Well done, my good and faithful servants.  You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together, “Matthew 25:23. Did you notice?  The servants were praised not because they were fruitful but faithful.  They did what they were able to do with what they had been given.

How about you?

Celebrate Recovery Thought of the Day - April 21st

Good Morning CR Family!

Please see below for the Recovery Thought of the Day from Perry C. Also, make sure to check out the announcements for the sign up links for this week's share group meetings.

Recovery Thought of the Day:

Desire to Heal

Play this song before or while you are reading the thought of the day: "Prize Worth Fighting For," Jamie Kimmett
When I was a young Christ follower, I came to the realization that my roving addictions, low self-image, pervasive fear and difficulty with maintaining healthy relationships revealed that my life was, as we say in recovery, “unmanageable” (step one).  It just wasn’t working.  I felt like everyone else knew how to play the game of life and I missed out on the instructions.

I had and still do have this continual deep desire within me to grow, get healthy and succeed (which to me means use up all the potential God has given me).  But it hasn’t always been easy and smooth sailing. Just because we commit our lives and wills over to the care of God and we’ve gotten ourselves into a 12-step program and we want to change, it is still hard work.
At least for me it has been.

For example, one day a trusted recovery friend gave me a paperback copy of the book, “Safe People” by Dr. H. Cloud.  I started reading it and ten pages in I hurled it across the room in anger.  It was clear from the reading, I was an “unsafe person”.  As hard as that was to read and accept. It was also another little death or surrender that helped me get entirely ready to have God remove all my defects of character, (step six).  And so, the journey of recovery progresses, step by step, one day at a time and the good news is that you are not alone!

What area of your life has God been working with you on this week?

Recovery Thought of the Day - April 20th

 Good Morning CR Family!

Please see below for the Recovery Thought of the Day from Dana C.

Recovery Thought of the Day:

CR Monday: Make the List

April 20, 2020

I have a question for you. When your world turns upside down, fear lurking all around, doubt and worry occupy your mind, and isolation occurring most of the time; what do you do? Its pandemic time and these descriptive words are more than English rhyme, its what really occupies our mind a lot of the time. We all know how serious this pandemic is so I’m not going to spend any more time talking about the obvious but rather talk about solutions.

So, what do you do to? I don’t know about you but I have to change this scenario up, somehow, some way, I need to gain some balance in what and how I am thinking. Enter the Gratitude List. That’s right, make a list of what you are grateful for, put it on your refrigerator door and let it sink in and remind you of what you are really here for.

Take some to think about the major areas of your life and list at least 2 things you are grateful for. Here is a suggestion gratitude list from CR and from me to help you get started:

How Is God working in your life?  What are two areas you can see God working in your life. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6

Who are you grateful for?  This can include your family, friends, recovery friends and mentors, church family, etc. Why are your grateful for them? “Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the word of Christ have the run of the house.” Colossians 3:15-16

Recovery List at least 2 recent growth areas of your recovery and why are you thankful for them. “ As for us we have this large crowd of witnesses around us. So then, let us rid ourselves of everything that gets in the way, and the sin which holds on to us so tightly, and let us run with determination the race that lies before us.” Hebrews 12:1

My Church. List 2 things for which you are thankful for your church. “Enter the Temple gates with thanksgiving.: Psalm 100:4

Who can I help? List 2 people you can help today and be thankful for the opportunity. It doesn’t matter how you help them but that you help them. “And since I, the Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow: do as I have done to you.” John 13:14-15

Recovery Thought of the Day - April 19th

Good Morning CR Family!

Please see below for the Recovery Thought of the Day from Dorothy H.

Recovery Thought of the Day:

During this time of isolation, I have had the opportunity to clean and try to look at my thoughts or what is on my mind. I still have a hard time journaling my thoughts. I notice that I am not running in panic, yet. I am trying to learn that the Lord as it and knows what to do. I have been working on dealing with my finances and asking questions to myself what do I need to do next. I am trying to breath and understand what faith is and what does that deal with in my relationship with Jesus.

What step are you on in your relationship with Jesus? Do you need to do some cleaning in the heart?
When I started CR, my vision was of a nice new silver grill, but has time went on the grill became  black and ugly. My heart was the same, it started out nice and shining pink, but with life it became black and ugly. I am working on scraping all the black off and making it nice and shining pink again. What are you doing during lock down? Focusing on what the news say or focusing on God and what He says? During this time He is making diamonds out of you if you take a look around you. People, places, and things around you are diamonds in your life. Please today take a look around you and take note or journal all the beautiful diamonds in your life today.

If you would like someone to reach out to you, text us your E-mail and name to 970-645-6109 and we will have someone from within CR reach out to you.

Recovery Thought of the Day - April 18th

Good Morning CR Family!

Please see below for the Recovery Thought of the Day from Perry C.  Also, if you missed CR Friday Night last night, the recording of our stream is up on our youtube channel.  See the announcement section at the end of this E-mail for a link.

Recovery Thought of the Day:

Any Red Lights Flashing?

Continuing the recovery thought of yesterday.  Are you aware of any flashing red lights on the dashboard of your marriage or friendships?  Do you have a relationship that needs attention? Don’t ignore the warning lights.  Relationships are too important and valuable to ignore.  Healing doesn’t happen outside of relationships both with God and other people.

Growing up I didn’t understand how to develop and nurture friendships. And I didn’t know how to constructively deal with normal relational conflict.  When differences came up with a friend, I would either sweep it under the rug or leave the friendship. 

Then I entered recovery and my 12-step group taught me to really listen to others.  I was not the center of the universe and other people mattered.  I watched my leaders practice healthy ways of dealing with conflict that didn’t destroy relationships but deepen them.  The group experience taught me to own what is within my personal boundaries and to speak my truth.

I have come to believe there are often unmet needs behind relational issues.  And when both people are able to express what they are feeling and what they need to each other, healing of the relationship is possible.  Instead of finger pointing, judging and blaming change the dance and take turns verbalizing what both need.  Because when we sense that our feelings and needs are valued and heard, it immediately reduces hostility and tension.  It also opens the door for a peaceful solution to conflict and deeper emotional intimacy with others.

If you would like someone to reach out to you, text us your E-mail and name to 970-645-6109 and we will have someone from within CR reach out to you.

Recovery Thought of the Day:

Cars

Three days after I purchased my used 2005 Toyota a light came on the dashboard that read, “check engine”.  I got this sickly feeling in the pit of my stomach.  You know the saying they bought a lemon?  Yep, I got one.  Turns out the car needed a catalytic convertor, oxygen sensors, and more.

The car was running fine.  I wouldn’t have known the problem existed except for the helpful and much hated blinking “check engine” light.  The purpose of dashboard lights is to indicate something under the hood of the car needs attention.

Well our bodies have similar indicator lights for both our physical and emotional needs. We are familiar with the physicality of our bodies: when we are thirsty, we need water.  When we are tired, we need sleep.  When we are exhausted, we need to rest.

Our emotions work the same way, they inform the body what is going on internally.  So, for example when I get sweaty palms and a racing heart I feel fear. The bodily sensations of fear signal information to my brain.  With that awareness I can determine if the threat is real or am I watching a scary movie on Netflix.

Many of us in our family of origin were told we could not trust our feelings (oh that didn’t hurt) or our feelings weren’t important (Your sister never complained).  We learned to devalue our feelings, by suppressing, ignoring or medicating them.  And this is like driving a car without a working dashboard.  It is dangerous and could break down at any moment.

Growing up what emotions were allowed and not allowed in your family?  How has that affected you today?

Recovery Thought of the Day - April 16th

Good Morning CR Family!

Please see below for the Recovery Thought of the Day from Kimberly A.  Also, make sure you check out the announcements at the end of this E-mail for the Sign-Up links for Friday's Open Share Group Meetings. In addition, you are not going to want to miss this Friday's CR Friday Night Live.  I am going to have some special guest and we are going to discuss our recovery tool-boxes. The announcements also has a link for you to tune in to that.

Recovery Thought of the Day:

With all the information going around in the media and with those we connect with daily; I often feel frustrated and overwhelmed.  My heart’s desire is for someone to tell me when this nightmare will be over, and when can we go back to the way’s things use to be?

Then my heavenly father comes into my heart and reminds me that he is holding me and the rest of this world in the palm of his hand.  I am quickly reminded of Psalm 62:6 “Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken” Even though this world has so much uncertainty and it seems that our leaders are just as uncertain as I am about our current situation; we need to remember that our Heavenly father is running the show!  He is not surprised by this situation and he promises to give us a way through difficult time. He desires to be near and close to us. It is through these trials that we find our way back to Him.

So, if you have days where you are feeling frustrated, overwhelmed and discouraged like me; remember that you are not alone!  You have a Heavenly Father that is working behind the scenes and paving a way through the darkness! He is the solid rock on which you can stand firmly on during this time.

We were not meant to do this alone!  When you are having deep emotions that seem to be taking over your thoughts; I encourage you to reach out to your accountability partner, Sponsor or friend to process your feelings.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, 12 says,
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Good Morning CR Family!

Recovery Thought of the Day:

Stop and Smell the Roses
“A Cheerful heart is Good Medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up bones.”  - Proverbs 17:12
Last night my wife and I sat in on a zoom, small group, meeting with a couple of other couples in the church and the first question that came up was: “How have you experienced Joy today?”  Immediately once the question was asked, I found myself having to dig a little deep to find something I was joyful about, but then it hit me…  At the end of the day, my five year old daughter asked me to pick her up and she then gave me a big hug (I call her the World’s Best Hugger).  As I thought more about it that was definitely the highlight of my day and thinking more about it, it put a smile on my face.  Joy……  Thinking about that hug, I felt joy.  The fact of the matter is, those little joyful moments are scattered all throughout my day and at times, I can still be slow to stop and acknowledge them.  At time it is easier to focus on the negative and there isn’t a shortage of that right now.  On the other end, there isn’t a shortage of daily blessings in my life either, I just need to be more intentional in practicing my “attitude of gratitude” and slowing down and acknowledging the several blessings scattered throughout my day.  Today I would challenge everyone to hit the pause button today when you notice something positive in your life.  Sit in that moment for awhile and praise God for it!
If you would like someone to reach out to you, text us your E-mail and name to 970-645-6109 and we will have someone from within CR reach out to you.

Good Morning CR Family!

Recovery Thought of the Day:

Danger of Comparison

As many of us are isolated at home during this "Stay at Home" order from the Governor, I am sure that a lot of us are spending a lot more time on social medial.  While social media can be a great way to stay connected with others during this time, there is also several great dangers the lie within social media.  One of those dangers is the dangers of comparison.  Often times we can fall into the trap of comparing our lives to others.  It appears they have a happier family,  they appear to know more about the bible than I do, they seem to be doing better in their recovery journey than me and on  and on it goes.  The danger in this is, that it usually leads us into a pattern of negative thinking and it also distracts us from actively living out our own personal recoveries.

Have you found yourself playing the comparison game lately?  How's that workin' for ya? If you have, I would encourage you to reach out to somebody and talk about it.  Talking about it is one of the best ways to step out of denial and get you back on a track to positive thinking.
If you would like someone to reach out to you, text us your E-mail and name to 970-645-6109 and we will have someone from within CR reach out to you.

Recovery Thought of the Day - April 13th

Good Morning CR Family!

Please see below for the Recovery Thought of the Day.  Also, make sure you check out the announcements at the end of this E-mail for the Sign-Up links for Friday's Open Share Group Meetings.

Recovery Thought of the Day:

Personal Boundaries

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

What are the things we can change in our lives and what are those things we cannot change?

Here’s an exercise that helped teach and correct my misunderstanding of personal boundaries.  Get a blank piece of paper and on it draw two distinct medium size circles with space between them and plenty of space to write within each circle.

Place your name over one circle and on the other circle put your friend/significant other's name. These circles represent: your personal boundaries and the personal boundaries of someone close to you.

Within your circle write all the aspects of your life that you own, have responsibility for and control over.  Go ahead, I am not going to give you the answers. What do you have control over?

After you're done writing in your circle, can you see that your loved one/friend has similar things that they are responsible for themselves? Their thoughts, beliefs, dreams, desires, how they spend their time, money, their emotions, diet, exercise, work, attitudes and who they love, it all belongs solely to them.

Now outside the circles write down everything that you cannot control: the weather, a pilot of an airplane, your age, height, your family of origin, politics (mostly), Covid-19, your spouse and friends just to mention a few.

Before recovery as a codependent my two circles were enmeshed.  My boundaries were not distinct or intact.  Getting clear about what we have control over is critical in recovery, if we are to accept those things we cannot change and change the things we can.  So much pain can be avoided if before we react, we ask, is this within my personal boundary to fix, control or change or does it belong to someone else?  If it belongs to someone else, then all we have control over is how we choose to respond to their words and behaviors.

Today, go ahead and share something you thought you had control over and once in recovery found out you didn’t.
If you would like someone to reach out to you, text us your E-mail and name to 970-645-6109 and we will have someone from within CR reach out to you.

Recovery Thought of the Day - April 12th

Happy Easter CR Family!

Please see below for the Recovery Thought of the Day:

Out of the Darkness

On Good Friday, I couldn't help to think of my own recovery as I heard Pastor Ryan deliver his message.  The end of his message was very powerful, as it was kind of abruptly, ending with nothing but a dark screen.  I imagine that is how Jesus' Disciples felt when he was crucified and that is what I felt before recovery....darkness.  I had plenty of blessings around me, but all I could see was darkness.

This Easter morning we celebrate Christ rising from the darkness, back to life! Thanks to his ultimate sacrifice, I am now able to follow him out of the darkness and back onto a path of healing and restoration!  That is something worth celebrating!

If you would like someone to reach out to you, text us your E-mail and name to 970-645-6109 and we will have someone from within CR reach out to you.

Recovery Thought of the Day - April 11th

Good Morning CR Family!

Please see below for the Recovery Thought of the Day from Perry C.

Wisdom

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

No one is born wise.  We acquire wisdom.  Some learn wisdom from healthy role models growing up and others of us learn it as a part of our recovery.

Wisdom requires transforming our mind to know what is good, right, true, honorable and above reproach and then practicing it in our daily lives.
Hebrews 5:14 the author says, “Solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil”.  Can you hear it?  First, we learn what is good and healthy, (attend an open share group long enough and you will hear those further along in their recovery share healthy responses.) Then we practice the good, healthy ways of thinking and behaving. And by doing this we train ourselves (through repetitive practice) to know the difference between right/wrong.  And we become wiser, more content people.

Next week let’s get practical and discuss personal boundaries and answer the question found in the Serenity Prayer, what are the things in our lives that we cannot change and what are the things we can change?  Till then have a Blessed Easter everyone!

If you would like someone to reach out to you, text us your E-mail and name to 970-645-6109 and we will have someone from within CR reach out to you.

  1. Don't forget to subscribe to our youtube channel.  CR Youtube Channel Link .  This is where we will be live streaming "CR Friday Night Live"  Friday's at 6:30pm.
  2. We hosting on-line open share group meetings Friday Nights at 7:30pm.  There will be one mixed issues group for men and one mixed issues group for women.  Check Announcements next week for next weeks sign-up links.  These meetings will take place using the Zoom App.  In order to participate you will need a tablet, smart-phone or computer with camera.  In order to ensure confidentiality of these meetings everyone who participates will need to find a private room to set up, have their camera on, so others can see that there is no one else in the room and they will also need to wear a pair of headphones so that they are the only ones that can hear.  This is a free app and you can download it on google play, apple app store or through your web-browser on your computer. For help on how to join a Zoom meeting please click on the the following link, which will take you to their support web-site Zoom Set-Up Help
