Recovery Thought of the Day - April 11th

Good Morning CR Family!

Please see below for the Recovery Thought of the Day from Perry C.

Wisdom

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

No one is born wise.  We acquire wisdom.  Some learn wisdom from healthy role models growing up and others of us learn it as a part of our recovery.

Wisdom requires transforming our mind to know what is good, right, true, honorable and above reproach and then practicing it in our daily lives.
Hebrews 5:14 the author says, “Solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil”.  Can you hear it?  First, we learn what is good and healthy, (attend an open share group long enough and you will hear those further along in their recovery share healthy responses.) Then we practice the good, healthy ways of thinking and behaving. And by doing this we train ourselves (through repetitive practice) to know the difference between right/wrong.  And we become wiser, more content people.

Next week let’s get practical and discuss personal boundaries and answer the question found in the Serenity Prayer, what are the things in our lives that we cannot change and what are the things we can change?  Till then have a Blessed Easter everyone!

If you would like someone to reach out to you, text us your E-mail and name to 970-645-6109 and we will have someone from within CR reach out to you.
