Recovery Thought of the Day - April 8th

Good Morning CR Family!

Please see below for the Recovery Thought of the Day from Perry C.  Please check the announcements at the end of this E-mail to see the sign up links for this Friday's Open Share Group Meetings.

How are you feeling?

This morning I awoke to a spectacular Spring day in Colorado.  The sky was crystal blue, the air was warm, and the sun was brightly shining.  I felt a sense of awe and deep gratitude for the gift of the day, my health, family and meaningful work.  I also felt sad, isolated and depressed. I sat in stillness and wondered, “God how is it possible to feel such varied emotions all at the same time?”

Feelings come from our heart and inform us of the condition of our soul.  Our feelings are our responsibility, no one else’s.  We own them.  We also embrace and listen to them as they play an enormous role in our motivation and behaviors.  And so, this morning I sat listening to my heart.

Every day in the news we hear someone say, “these are uncertain times”.  Vulnerable people of all ages are dying due to the Covid-19 virus. Most of our lives have changed drastically overnight.  We all have experienced some loss of companionship, freedom, safety, provision and independence.  Then it hit me, I too have experienced those losses but never stopped to acknowledge them.  And so, this morning before I got busy with the day, I did some soul care.

So how are you feeling today?
